Koan Kenpachi is a New Orleans-based hip-hop artist and producer whose music blends sharp lyricism, storytelling, and a timeless sense of purpose. With deep roots in the city's culture and a modern approach to independent artistry, Koan has carved a lane uniquely his own.
Reminiscent of '90s-style hip-hop, Koan's sound ranges from socially conscious narratives to raw, personal reflections and energetic battle raps. A former frontman of the award-winning band EOE (Equal Opportunity Employment), Koan has toured nationwide and headlined performances at renowned venues including the world-famous Tipitina's.
His solo debut, Chronicles of a Dying Breed, received high praise for its cohesion and lyrical depth, with Offbeat Magazine calling it "playable from beginning to end." His sophomore album, Supremium, is hailed as “a hip-hop album for hip-hop heads,” featuring standout tracks like Weirdo, Lookin’ Around, and The 20’s, which have each gained tens of thousands of views across platforms.
